Fashion, beverage and construction sectors get guidelines for reporting on nature
TNFD also proposes guidelines for fishing, marine transportation and water utilities.
The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has published guidelines for companies across apparel, beverages, building materials, engineering, construction and real estate.
Today’s additions take the number of TNFD sectoral guidelines to 13.
The initiative is also seeking feedback on proposals for fishing, marine transportation and water utilities. Those consultations run until 4 April, with final guidance due by June.
The publication of the new guidelines follows an announcement yesterday that the TNFD had secured “strategic, multi-year” grant funding from The Rockefeller Foundation, who joined the body’s stewardship council.
This month, TNFD also launched consultation groups in China, which will be led by Beijing-based non-profit, the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS), and Hong Kong, which will be overseen by the Hong Kong Green Finance Association and non-profit Business Environment Council (BEC).
The Bank of China also joined TNFD’s taskforce.
