IFRS Foundation appoints Saudi Aramco exec to board
The head of Saudi Aramco’s investment arm has become a trustee for the body overseeing the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
Sheila Alrowaily has been an Aramco executive for more than 20 years, and is currently the CEO of Wisayah Investment Management Company, the subsidiary that runs the group’s pension fund.
She was among three new trustees announced on Thursday by the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation, which houses the ISSB.
Development bank veteran Shixin Chen and ex- vaccine charity head Assietou Diouf were also appointed for three-year terms.
The IFRS Foundation has 22 trustees who are responsible for governance and oversight of the accounting and sustainability standards non-profit body. This includes overseeing the appointment of members to the ISSB. They do not have a say on technical matters related to standards.
