This month’s ESG job opportunities include vacancies at Netflix, Disney, the BBC, L’Oréal and the UK Government

Netflix is looking for a programme manager to work on sustainability in its value chain. The role, which pays between $50,000 and $245,000, is based out of North America and will involve working on the streaming giant’s Scope 3 emissions reduction strategy.

The Walt Disney Company is hiring for a sustainability sourcing project manager for consumables. Reporting to the senior manager for merchandise sourcing and development, the role will support Disney’s 2030 targets for reducing Scope 3 emissions across its food and beverage businesses, and sourcing sustainable cocoa.

The UK’s Department for Business & Trade is seeking someone to head its responsible business and ESG policy efforts. The team is in charge of adjudicating on whether businesses comply with the OECD standards on responsible business conduct, including running the UK’s National Contact Point where stakeholders can raise grievances. The Government described the role as suitable for someone already performing at the same grade within the government but “seeking to round-off their CV before a step-up or external move to the private sector, or an established ESG manager in the private sector looking to join the civil service”. Duties will include providing “advisory consultancy to FTSE100 companies and SMEs on delivering responsible and sustainable business outcomes” and briefing government ministers.

Climate data and fintech firm Persefoni is recruiting a climate solutions director for the Asia Pacific region. The role will involve working on clients’ carbon and climate measurement and management, as well as identifying trends in the space and helping to develop products linked to carbon accounting.

The BBC is looking for a programme manager for sustainability. Sitting within the unit responsible for transforming the broadcaster at corporate level, the candidate will be responsible for helping the BBC achieve its sustainability and net zero goals. The salary ranges from £90,000-£110,000.

L’Oréal is on the hunt for maternity cover for its Head of Finance, Operations & Sustainability. The successful candidate will help the company manage its supply chains and reporting obligations, and lead the financial element of its No Waste Team.

Oil major BP is hiring a sustainability reporting advisor to help handle its ESG disclosures and liaise with its auditor. The role, based within BP’s communications & external affairs team, will also involve benchmarking the firm against its peers and conducting research on upcoming regulation.
