Tetra Pak has lost its European sustainability director to Chinese fast fashion giant Shein. Mustan Lalani left his role as the packaging firm’s sustainability director for northern and eastern Europe to become the global head of sustainability at Shein, which he described on LinkedIn as having a “disruptive model with the potential to drive sustainability at an unparalleled scale”. 

UK energy firm SSE is looking for a new chief sustainability offer, after Rachel McEwen announced she was stepping down to start “a new life chapter of passion projects and new adventures”. McEwen was one of the pioneers behind the world’s first corporate just transition strategy, unveiled by SSE in 2020.   

Unilever’s global head of sustainability, Thomas Lingard, has left the consumer goods giant after 25 years to become CEO of think tank Centre For Future Generations.  

Mars has named its vice president of global sustainability, Alastair Child, as chief sustainability officer. Child, who has been at the US conglomerate for more than 20 years, takes up his new role in February.  

Meta is hiring a manager to oversee its engagement strategies with critical suppliers, to help it meet its net zero commitments throughout its operations. The Washington-based role will pay between $144,000 – $201,000.  

Computer chip giant Intel is looking for a global climate change programme manager to help it meet its 2040 net zero commitment. The US-based hybrid role has a salary range of between $136,990 – $193,390. 

Google is hiring a product manager focused on technologies to reduce contrails, the water vapor clouds that form behind aircraft trapping heat and causing warming. The role is based in Switzerland. 

Aldi is seeking a climate manager to help roll out technological solutions for its value-chain emissions disclosures. The Austria-based role is remote and the salary starts at €104,300. 

UK retailer John Lewis is looking for a biodiversity specialist to help develop its goals under the Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN) framework. The London-based role is permanent and pays between £45,400 and £68,100 per year.  

Johnson & Johnson is hiring a sustainability manager for its Dutch arm. The successful candidate will set up methodologies for measuring the impact of the pharmaceutical giant’s sustainability efforts. 

The IFRS Foundation is looking for a biodiversity and nature specialist to support the work of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). Sitting within its technical team, the Montreal-based role requires a candidate with knowledge of corporate sustainability disclosure standards, including the TNFD and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards.  

Danish shipping firm A.P. Moller – Maersk is recruiting an ESG reporting manager to help it review and update its double materiality assessment under the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.   

Cloud software firm Workiva is hiring a global sustainability director to help ensure the accuracy of disclosures, including SEC filings, proxy statements and impact reports. The US-based remote role pays between $154,000-$250,000 per year. 

Danish healthcare company Novo Nordisk is hiring a vice president for corporate affairs and sustainability for its Brazilian affiliate, based in São Paulo.  

Tricon Energy is looking to hire a global sustainability manager to oversee its carbon foot-printing efforts. The hybrid role is based in Texas.  

Oliver Healthcare Packaging is recruiting a director of global sustainability. The hybrid role is open to candidates in European, North American and Asian countries where the company has a presence.
