The World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) is appointing a new chair to its supervisory board. The NGO published a candidate brief for the position, in which it said that “beyond some inspiring exceptions, most companies are not contributing enough” to sustainability goals. “This means WBA needs to gear up for the next phase of their evolution,” it wrote. Among other things, the new chair will provide strategic leadership in raising its international profile “as a ‘go-to’ institution for corporate accountability in support of sustainable development” and help the board develop a new strategy and work program. The role is for three years and is eligible for reappointment for a second term.
Pharma giant GSK is hiring a full-time climate manager, based in the UK, to support it with its commitment to net zero. The firm has pledged to cut its carbon emissions by 2030, becoming net zero across its value chain by 2045. As a result, it wants someone familiar with Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventories and decarbonisation opportunities. “You will have a good understanding of the carbon removals space and its role providing opportunities through both nature and technology,” GSK said.
Salesforce is seeking an attorney to provide counsel on its work on executive compensation and ESG compliance. The full-time position will be based in one of the firm’s US offices and will involve providing advice on pay-related disclosure and management, including for Salesforce’s annual proxy statement and shareholder meeting. The successful candidate will also help the firm get to grips with reporting and listing requirements.
Environmental consultancy ERM is recruiting a senior or managing consultant for its social sustainability and sustainable finance team. The successful candidate will assess social issues for the firm’s broader impact assessments, and participate in projects linked to management plans, resettlement projects, community health & safety plans, gap assessments, and due diligence assessments. Many of the projects are based in Africa, with others in European and the Middle East. The role is based out of the UK.
British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s is hiring a sustainability executive to its corporate responsibility and sustainability team, supporting its sustainability strategy. “This will involve coordinating and leading initiatives such as Forests and Climate Carbon Disclosure Project responses, engaging key suppliers on Science Based Target Initiative targets, and managing supplier engagement Scope 3 disclosure platforms such as Manufacture 2030 and Higg,” says the firm’s vacancy. “You will be responsible for data cleaning and analysis, drafting approaches to sustainably source key raw materials, developing training content for suppliers and colleagues, and responding to queries on sustainability.”
Engineering consultancy Royal HaskoningDHV is seeking a senior carbon consultant to advise on projects across energy, industry, shipping, port and coastal developments, and flood and coastal defences. The candidate will work on carbon accounting projects, such as life cycle assessments.
Amazon is on the hunt for an ESG ratings manager for its subsidiary, The Worldwide Sustainability. The team responsible for the company’s marketing, partnerships and communications work around sustainability, and its commitment to the Climate Pledge, wants someone to lead its ESG ratings programme and help scale its overall reporting strategy.
US-based engineering firm TRC is hiring an associate director of sustainability and ESG to become a “seller/doer” of ESG advisory services. The role involves managing ESG reports, materiality assessments, sustainability data and research, and CDP’s climate change, water and forest-related disclosure requirements.
Californian semiconductor and software firm Qualcomm is recruiting an analyst to work on ESG reporting, including collecting data, helping the company respond to external requests for sustainability information, and supporting regulatory compliance. It is also hiring a climate and decarbonisation analyst to help it meet its goal to meet net zero by 2040, managing its carbon footprint, life cycle assessments and external reporting.
US beauty B Corp Sunday Riley wants an ESG compliance manager to help it develop KPIs to track its sustainability progress, fulfill its regulatory duties and develop internal ESG initiatives.
